Transfer Students must submit official transcripts from ALL previously attended colleges and/or universities, and must have a 2.1 cumulative GPA. (Course work completed more than 10 years ago is excluded from the GPA calculation). If 30 or fewer semester hours of college work have been completed at previous institutions, an official high school transcript is required as well as official academic transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended. Transfer students seeking admission to the Nursing Program must submit an official high school transcript regardless of the number of post secondary hours completed. Applicants who are not in compliance are referred to the Admissions Committee, which, with the approval of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, will rule on acceptance into Aquinas. If the Admissions Committee rules to accept an individual, the letter of acceptance becomes the legal contract, and any conditions therein must be met for a student to continue in subsequent semesters. (See the Aquinas College Catalog for explanation of transfer of credit.)
Transfer students who have not completed a minimum of remedial Math or English on the college level will be required to take Placement tests in English or Math. Placement in English and Math courses will be based on the results of each of the placement tests.
When all official transcripts have been received, a transfer credit evaluation will be performed. A copy of that evaluation will be sent to the student no later than the end of the first term of enrollment.
To compute your grade point average, divide the total quality points by the total number of hours attempted. Hours transferred from other institutions are not calculated in the Aquinas College GPA.
