Nominate an Alumnus/a for
   an Alumni Award

A selection committee comprised of the President of the College, Vice-president for Institutional Advancement, Director of Alumni Relations, Director of Development and President of the Alumni Association selects the Aquinas College Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.

The selection committee wants the opportunity to review the broadest possible range of qualified nominees. Thus, anyone may nominate an Aquinas alumnus for any of the three awards according to the following guidelines:

Eligibility and Nominations

To be eligible for any of the Distinguished Alumni Awards, a nominee must:

  • Be a graduate of or have earned 15 or more credits from Aquinas
  • Must through deed and action, reflect and recognize the importance of their education and bring honor to Aquinas College;
  • Have attained extraordinary distinction and success in his or her profession or life;
  • Ideally, has demonstrated service to Aquinas College through contributions of time, energy, or resources;
  • Is a person of such integrity and stature that the College will take pride in his or her achievement and recognition;
  • Has attained national recognition, regional, or statewide prominence and significant involvement in civic, cultural or charitable activities;
  • Accept the nomination
  • Be present to accept the award in person

Nominations Format

Graduates, former students, faculty, and staff of Aquinas College may make nominations. Nominators should submit the following:

  • A letter stating nomination category and establishing the candidate's qualifications with clear and concise detail;
  • A biographical sketch and a resume (single-spaced on not more than two pages);
  • At least two supporting letters of nomination from others;
  • Any additional information that would substantiate the nomination (special attributes such as leadership, creativity, energy, vision, commitment to a cause).
