Father George Thadathil will be serving as Campus Chaplain. Father George, CMI is a Carmelite of Mary Immaculate. One of ten children, Father was born in the state of Kerala in South India.
Father made his first profession in 1979 and was ordained to the priesthood in May of 1988. Through his years in India, he has been Vocation Director of his Order, superior of a monastery, pastor of a local parish as well as a high school teacher, rector of a boarding high school and high school principal. He did graduate work in the field of education.
In 1999, Father was elected as the provincial councilor for education. Prior to coming to the United States, he earned a Master's degree in sociology. In 2003, the Diocese of Nashville asked the Carmelites to provide the support of additional priests. Father was selected and first served as an associate pastor at Saint Stephen's Church. He came to the Dominican Campus after serving as pastor at Saint Patrick's in McEwen.
Father George is pleased to be on the Dominican Campus, which served so many students of a variety of ages. His gentle spirit and devotion are greatly appreciated.
Mass is offered in St. Jude’s Chapel during the fall and spring semesters and during the summer session depending on the availability of a priest. Dates and times for Mass are regularly posted.
